Has anyone ever spent Shabbos in the Swan & Dolphin Resorts at Disney
in Orlando, FL? Are the hotels reasonably Shabbos-friendly? I assume
that there are electronic locks on the door that would need to be
accommodated. But, is it reasonably easy to get in and out of the
hotels? between them? Can one navigate within the hotel using the
stairs or other alternatives to escalators and elevators, both to get
from the lobby to the guest rooms and to get to and from meeting rooms
and guest rooms? It may be necessary for me to be at a conference,
over Shabbos, at the Swan & Dolphin Resorts, in June and I need to have
an understanding of the layout of the hotels and my ability to function
within them on Shabbos. Thanks for any information you can provide --
the more specific, the better!

It's a simple and short walk between the buildings - there's a connecting walkway.  There's an escalator from the lobby level that's probably not a problem for shabbos.

The hotels and grounds are beautiful.  You'll probably have problems with the door locks and lack of access to stairways.  Also the Dolphin is a large hotel.  My advice is to call the hotel in advance and explain your situation.  It won't be the first time they've heard of it and they should be willing to accomodate your needs.

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels are two of the most distinctive and vibrant resorts in Walt Disney World. Their playful and distinctive architecture sets the tone of whimsical elegance found throughout these resorts.
